    I reckon that to store 15 days of energy at an average power level of 200 GW, we’d need storage ponds say 4 metres deep average , with a head of 100 metres (twice the height of Niagara), and effective surface area of almost 49,000 sq. km. say 450 km x 109 km,

    The Sierra Nevada are 400 km from north to south, and about 80 to 120 km wide.
    Okay, we didn’t intend to put all of it in California.
